Midwifery Model of Care

The greek term for midwife is “with woman” and so is my commitment to partner with women and their families during all phases of life, especially during their childbearing years.

I believe women should be surrounded by care, respect, and dignity.  I commit to serve women in honesty, integrity and humility.

It is my goal to care for the woman as a WHOLE and give them the tools needed to trust in their body while understanding that childbirth is a normal physiological process.

I commit to physically supporting the client:
Monitoring the physical well-being of the woman in childbearing years while minimizing technological interventions and providing continuity of care. Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical care. Provide well-woman, pre-conception, prenatal, and postpartum care.

I commit to emotionally supporting the client:
I commit to providing a place where a woman's voice is heard, her concerns validated, and space to process her options. Assistance with evaluating options and goals.

I commit to nutritionally supporting the client:
I commit to provide guides, resources, and counseling to empower healthy eating for mother and baby.

I commit to educationally supporting the client:
I commit to provide personalized education and collaborative care using evidence-based practice. Provide information on benefits and risks.

I commit to the social well-being of the client:
Working alongside women to help them discover and embrace their identity in their faith, as wives and mothers, in their careers, and within their relationships.

I cannot promise that every outcome will be as planned nor can I make decisions for the client.

I can vow to empower women in discovering their strength, confidence and wisdom within so they can make informed decisions for the safety and well-being of themselves and their baby.
